Early morning Mother's Day

Had dreams that I would have breakfast in bed, hubby would be rising early to do the daily dress, change, feed of the kiddos, and he would bring nursing boy to me in the morrning while in bed and I . . . aahh . . .. Get to sleep in!

Not!

Reality is 6am alarm goes off to the sound of "wheaa wheaa" which means "mommy!, breakfast!" And hubby is snoring.

So I stumble off, eyes crusty .. . *blink*blink* . .. . and get the boy. Mmmm I love the smell of a washed before bed baby . .. .. mmm. I check- princess isn't moving - good! (he he he) she snores too!

Today, we are expecting my brother to come down and together with my mother, we are going to a buffet that is in a beautiful setting. That should be nice. But the real treat for me is that I was promised a few hours in Barnes & Noble sans kids! I am so looking forward to that!

What did you do for Mothers Day?

So far the hubby is still asleep...he's going out of town this afternoon. It's me and the baby girl hanging out. She has a runny nose and a bad cough so she's dosed up on meds...

My oldest (who is my stepdaughter) spent the night at a friends and is going to her mom's today so I won't see her.

The joys of being a mother...it really is what it's all about and I wouldn't have it any other way! (except it would be nice if my oldest was here...:-(

Just wanted to say HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to you!!

:-)

Michelle - First, thanks for commenting on my blog the other day. I'm a little behind on my blog reading, but I wanted to pay you a visit. :-) As for Mother's Day, I am having a relaxed, laid-back day with the family...nothing that would seem too special to anybody else, but it's a mighty special day to me. :-)

Happy Mother's Day to you!

My oldest sent a note from Marine boot camp..she is in rehab for an injury...worth more than gold. My 16 year old daughter put together a power point presentation with Norah Jones "Come Away with Me" playing in the background...I cried. My youngest - 6 yrs old - gave me all the wonderful things a 6 year old makes in school and church for mother's day. It was special....

My day...like boomam said, was a normal laid back day that wouldn't exactly seem too special to anyone else. We went to church in the morning and my family took me/us to a Chinese Buffet. Then they surprised me by us going to a nearby lake. It was nothing BIG, but we were together, enjoying one another. That is what makes Mothers Day special. Although getting away for a few hours alone would also qualify as special...so good for you Michelle. You deserve it! Happy Mothers Day to you! Wish I could've joined you for coffee and a good book. ...sigh...

Belated Happy Mom's Day! Mine was spent with my family here at home with them preparing everything that day. I was the queen for a day.

Cheers to a new week!
