A party!`

5 minutes for mom is throwing this shin-dig and you are all invited!
There's goning to be PRIZES!
It'll be fun!

I *heart* Jesus.

"What, mommy?" I hear from my three year old besides me.

She and I are running errands together. Not to long before this my mother mentioned that she was a bit saddened that my little girl loved princesses more than Jesus.

Mom has a point. But how do you compete with those she has already met? They have accessories! And I already am not 100% comfortable pointing to any drawing or depiction of Jesus and saying "that's Him" . . .

So I made a conscious effort to speak to and about my relationship with Jesus, and perhaps she will pick up His "realness" just a bit more from me. So back to the car . . .

"I wasn't talking to you, baby, I was talking to Jesus."

"Jesus not here" she says matter of fact.

"No, Jesus is here and He hears you when you talk to Him..

. . pause . . .

"No, Jesus not here. He at church." she says..

"He's here, you just can't see Him, baby girl, like the wind . . . (commence deep theological truths to be explained in 3 year old terms) . . . and He hears us, and when He talks to us you'll hear it in your heart..

"To which she looks down at her sweater that has a heart on it..

"OH! There's my heart!".

Hmmm, think she "got" it?

For ones who love to laugh.

(a PPP)

One thing that is really neat about Payperpost is that I’m finding all these cool new sites!
This is one of them that I found today . . . funny videos Ever one ready for a laugh . . .and to share one too . .

I went, I looked, I laughed and found SO MANY videos that I’d love to post right now, but for time sake can’t.

The photos and films have descriptions so if you - like myself - are particular about what things are NOT funny . . . just reading the descriptions should keep you out of harms way.

If you go there check out the pictures entitled "the magic of makeup".

Jokeroo gets two thumbs up from this mom.

More about Virginia

So I wrote here about how I got to know Virginia, sign language and such . . . well.

So the scene here is one Sunday after the deaf had gathered for church.

First we see Rita and her new daughter, seated next to her is her son, almost two years old. Both she and her hubby are deaf, but the children are hearing.

Then we see Virginia signing in American Sign Language about worship and her daughter understanding it. Then you will see her address me - behind the camera - and she switches to Mexican sign language speaking about the tape of children's praise music I lent to her daughter.

I am excited to be working with Virginia and our friend Yesenia on a retreat for the deaf women. We even got a guest speaker to come! Praise the Lord! We will be inviting deaf women from Ensenada and Tijuana . . . it's, well, as I said, EXCITING!

came the call from her bed,

"Mommy, shut the light off!"

"Baby, I can't, it's the sun."

Could you guess?

I am a people watcher.

I have a blast just watching and deducting what I can of someone by ‘certain clues’ . . . very Sherlock Holms-ish . . . at least it makes me feel so. Oh sleuth that I am. ;-)

So I had a blast here at What's My Image web site.

This site lets you guess an answer about someone then tells you the answer with another photo and question. I had fun going through the pictures.

It’s a great alternative to . . .say . . FreeCell, or Minesweeper, or even Spider Solitaire (Danny, this means you!)

Go ahead! Have some fun . . .

And what’s more . . . I had so much fun I enrolled myself . . . so my picture is rolling around there somewhere too.

A gazillion points to whoever sees it!

(A PayPerPost)

Look, ma! A MEME!

I was tagged by Barefoot in the Garden.

What’s your name and website URL? Michelle at (as if you didn't know)

What’s the most fun work you’ve ever done, and why? (two sentences max) Working as a coffee house barrista at a small college town coffee place. I mean really - social interaction with people that are HAPPY to get what you are giving them (if not down right desperate for it) and we got to pick the music, and drink ALL THE COFFEE WE WANTED!

Name one thing you did in the past that you no longer do but wish you did? (one sentence max) Go out dancing.

Name one thing you’ve always wanted to do but keep putting it off? (one sentence max) Finish my cross-stiching thing of a puppy and a kitten and a basket of yarn that I started in 1993.

What two things would you most like to learn or be better at, and why? (two sentences max) So many things . . .Mexican Sign language - because I'm using it everyday, and, um, home-maker-hood . . . (he he) 'cause I 'm using that everyday too!

If you could take a class/workshop/apprentice from anyone in the world living or dead, who would it be and what would you hope to learn? (two more sentences, max) From Einstein the theory of relativity . . . because that thing about how light and time are interrelated intrigues me to no end . . . I even think has something to do with the first days when God created the world . . .because the first thing he did was create light - hence time began. I think Einstein might be able to explain it in home-maker-hood terms too.

What three words might your best friends or family use to describe you? faithful, hospitable, confidant

Now list two more words you wish described you. feminine, delightful ( I need to soften my edges.)

What are your top three passions? God, family, ministry, and then on the not important passions: culture, board and card games, books and movies

Write–and answer–one more question that YOU would ask someone (with answer in three sentences max) What are you listening to right now?
My little boy running around going "bbrrr, bbrrrrrrr, bbrrrr" with his little matchbox car.

Bonus: What is one question you wish people would ask themselves? Am I supporting missions enough. ;-)

Kelly, The Flip Flop Mama, Just My Two Cents, and Missionary Mom (once your back from your blog break). . . consider yourselves tagged! MMuahahahahahah (if you haven't done this meme already) and others, if you feel like doing this, drop me a note and I'll stop by.

My baby brother is MARRIED!

And doesn't he look like he is just going to burst?! They are road tripping their way down through Baja California now as I write . . . happy as . . . well, a pair of newly weds. They called from La Paz today and he told me that their wedding decorations on their car are still there. Guess hubby and me did a good job of putting them on.

Anyway - more photos.

All glorious is the princess within her chamber ; her gown is interwoven with gold. (Ps 45:13)

He sang a song he wrote for/about her, she cried . . it was perfect.

Moments before she entered the church to get married.

The two men in my life sure do clean up good!

A moment with my daughter.

A celebration of love.

You Should Rule Jupiter

Huge and hot, Jupiter is a quickly turning planet with short days and intense gravity.

You are perfect to rule Jupiter, because you are both dominant and kind.
You have great strength and confidence, but you never abuse your power.

You are always right. Even if you make mistakes, you compensate for them... before anyone knows it.
Headstrong and ambitious, you always have a goal in mind. You are optimistic and believe thing things will always work out.

Help Wanted

I have a friend out of state, who is 5 months along in her pregnancy and now has high blood pressure, so she is on bed rest. She also has a 1 year old.

Any mothers out there that can offer some ways to help and encourage her? Any other mothers that went through bed rest and baby and were blessed by someone, some gesture?

A wedding!

I haven't posted much because my baby brother gets married tomorrow. We've had his bride in our home since Saturday. It's been so much fun.

We threw her a last minute bridal shower, and she modeled her dress for us. Since my brother wont' read this blog before then, I'll give you all a sneak peak at the dress:

The real stuff will be posted later!

Be warned! Female Stuff!!

Guys and others that don't want to hear about female stuff Go AWAY NOW.

It seems that I have a tendency to make an emotional fool of myself on the eve of my menses. An yet, on that eve I NEVER MAKE THE CONNECTION.

I'm not a regular gal, and that's a bit unfair, but still . . . you'd think.

Like an emotional pimple that is all swelled up and ugly, painful - relief comes with popping.
(lovely, I know)

I thank Kelly for hearing my woe's and cries, because my world was crashing down on me at the time and the boat was sinking . . .but wouldn't you know, that next morning . . . And if I ever sound that bad off again, you are free to remind me of this post.

It's especially good, 'cause your a few thousand miles away too.

So where do you sound like your from?

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.
