At the coffee anonymous meeting . . .

Hi, my name is Michelle.
(the small hall sounds out "Hello, Michelle")
I've been an addict off and on for most of my adult life. But it started much earlier.

I remember when I was just a child - a child by grabthars hammer! - when in the basement of the Lutheran church ('cause all "good" Lutheran churches have a basement) other addicts would give me some . . . CAUSE THEY THOUGHT IT WAS CUTE!!!!!

I never had a chance!

I've re-posted this post in response to Belizagial's Blog about caffeine.

Now, I'm not guzzling coffee during this pregnancy . . . so don't worry. But I do think loving coffee during pregnancy affects your kids . . . both my kids BEG for sips of my coffee. I've restricted them to a finger dab at a time . . . but you know . . .

Here's an excellent article about caffeine.

Because of nursing, I gave up full strength coffee in 2004. I found it easier to have an iced tea in the afternoon for a quick pick me up though. Now that I'm on a 9-day program, I don't have any...zilch...nada!

Well I have to say I am an herbal tea drinker so can't understand the coffee issue, although I am married to one! My kids still beg for drinks of their daddy's coffee though so I think maybe your theory has flaws :) because I was paranoid about caffeine and the baby. Oh and I will get around to that meme soon!

I too am an coffee addict. But hey everyone has got to a least have one bad habit. I personally am not giving it up. I enjoy it. I enjoy the comforter. There nothing better than sharing a piping hot cup (pot) with a dear friend.

I recently had a conversation with a co-worker who thinks it's cute that her girls (5 and 8 years old) drink coffee. In fact, she encourages it. I was speechless!

Well maybe since I don't drink it neither will the peanut. I hope so, that stuff truely is addicting! For now she is addicted to water...just wait until she tastes Mountain Dew for the first time. I don't know why but every kid I know that tries it loves it. Me? Not so much. I am a water girl! Yeah for one thing healthy in my life! :)

Had a nice "cuppa" at a wedding this afternoon. Had to add some water to it, though, to make it just right. Too hot, and too strong.

PS: In Brazil, they put coffee in their kids' sippy cups! :-O

he he, this made me laugh! I love coffee too. Only strange enough, my 15 mo old isn't begging for sips, or even sips of cola, but the other day he did bring me the bottle of Pine Sol and ask me to give him a drink! I guess I need some child locks!
